This will be assessed against local characteristics and the wider context. 

Buckinghamshire has a number of important archaeological monuments and buildings which have not been designated by Historic England, but which are none the less highly significant. Examples include a Bronze Age barrow cemetery in Marlow, World War I practice trenches in Medmenham, and nationally-important medieval ridge and furrow earthworks in Aylesbury Vale.

Equally some asset types such as Rothschild buildings are uniquely common in Buckinghamshire and contribute to local character and narratives.
