18th or 19th Century milestone on Wycombe Road in Lacey Green
Probable eighteenth or nineteenth century milestone on A4010 just south of Princes Risborough. Stone pillar 36 inches high 15 by 8 by 7 inches deep. Tilting at 45 degrees. Incised and painted with black paint which is in very poor condition and not readable on front. Also bench mark at top right hand corner of front face. Present in 2002 on updated Milestones Society survey website on Wycombe to Aylesbury route National ID number BU_WYAY07. On west side of Wycombe Road south of junction with Shootacre Lane. 37 cm wide 16cm deep 47cm high Inscription: 'centre:../ LONDON/ …. Carved benchmark top face. Cut in half ? by cutter.'
