Probable eighteenth to nineteenth century cast iron milepost on Buckingham to Brill road in Hillesden parish one of 12 on this road recorded by P.N. Jarvis [Bletchley Archaeological and Historical Society] January 1965. North of Westfield Farm present on OS map. Painted figures. Inscription: 'BUCKINGHAM 4 BRILL 11'. Confirmed by handwritten notes,including field visits mostly in 1980s. Under " MILE POSTS BUCKINGHAM to BRILL. ( Max Davies only )". NGR: 669 286: Parish: Hillesden: Number on 1" OS 1835 : none: Leaning metal mile post: some painted letters etc: ( Brill 12 Buck. 4 ): Illustration as over and rough sketch.
