18th or 19th Century milepost on Buckingham to Brill road in Preston Bissett Probable eighteenth to nineteenth century cast iron milepost on the Buckingham to Brill road in Preston Bissett parish. One of 12 on this road recorded by P.N. Jarvis [ Bletchley Archaeological and Historical Society ] in January 1965. South of The Bungalow on OS map. Recorded as Twyford parish in 1965. Painted figures. Inscription: BUCKINGHAM 5: BRILL 10. [ Sample drawing and location consulted ] (B1). Recorded as' present in 2010' on updated Milestones Society website national ID number BU_BUBR11 on Brill to Buckingham route. On east side unclassified road in hedge SE of Cowley Lodge. 52cm wide 23cm deep 106cm high. 'Almost unreadable'. Incription varies from that recorded in 1965.
