18th or 19th Century milepost on Buckingham to Brill road in Wotton Underwood
Probable eighteenth to nineteenth century cast iron milepost on Buckingham to Brill road in Wotton Underwood parish on Kingswood Lane by Long Wood. Recorded by P.N.Jarvis [ Bletchley Archaeological and Historical Society ] in January 1965. One of 12 recorded on this road. Painted figures. Recorded as present in 2003 on Milestones Society website in 2010 national ID number BU_BRBU03 on Brill to Buckingham route. On verge between roads on Kingswood Lane on east side of unclassified road. 119cm high, 52cm wide, 25cm deep. Inscription differs from that recorded in 1965 : left: BRILL 3: right: BUCKINGHAM 13.
