Description

Nineteenth century Methodist chapel at Turville Heath, now converted into a house. 'Methodist Chapel (Primitive)' shown on 1st edition 6-inch OS map and on subsequent 6-inch OS maps until the late 1960s or 1970s (B1). There is a Primitive Methodust chapel at Turville Heath (B2). Chapel Cottage is a former Primitive Methodist chapel, dating from 1872 which has been converted to residential use. The large dormers on the roof interrupt the simplicity of line that the building would originally have had, but have been roofed sympathetically to match the slate of the existing roof. Likewise the garage block has been designed to echo the style and detailing of the former chapel. The frontage of the plot is open and views can be glimpsed out acrodd farmland to trees beyond. A significant building within the conservation area of Turville Heath (B3).
