18th to 19th Century milestone on A4129 at Kingsey Probable eighteenth to nineteenth century milestone on A4129 in eastern part of Kingsey village. On Milestones Society website as present in 2003 on Thame to Risborough route National ID number BU_THR102. Only on one level of current OS map so position estimated from First Edition 1:25000 1876-85. On south side of road 80cm high on grass verge. Between Dove Farm and Foxhills. ' Completely clear of paint, edge on to road '. Inscription was: Oxford 15 Thame 2 Wycombe ?. [ Detailed description, location and photograph available ] (B1). Confirmed by handwritten notes on OS 1" (1835) were in Bucks County Museum now in Centre for Bucks Studies. Museum number 32 sheet XXXII page 3 of notes. ' MS at this grid ref' ' no inscription recorded. On Thame to Aston Sandford (J5) route. In same notes under "J 5 Milestones on Ground". NGR 748 068: Parish Kingsey: No number on 1" OS 1835. Poor state: Stone milestone: Facing 2 ways: No letters or numbers. ( Shape as 779 061). Sketch with description. Square stone milestone facing 2 ways: painted on letters. Sloping top for drainage.
