Description

Late nineteenth century row of terraced houses. A row of flint and brick cottages, some now rendered and brightly painted, the original brick and flint work pleasantly proportioned. Currently five cottages, but originally seven, the first numbered 14 and 16, the remainder 18, 20, 22 and 24 Wycombe Road. The original two cottages to the left hand side (southwest) predate the 1877 OS map. The remaining 5 are shown by 1899. The end wall nearest the town has two bricks whose original carvings have been highlighted, one WW 1878 and the other WJ 1878. The land upon which these stand was sold for such development in 1869 after the death of Dr Thomas Warren, physician and surgeon, on 2nd July 1868. Proposed for inclusion on local list (B1). NGR to centre of terrace. Added to local list (B2).
