Description

18th or 19th Century milestone on A4129 at Longwick Milestone. Proposed for inclusion on local list (B1). Present on Milestones Society updated survey website in 2003 on Thame to Risborough route National ID number BU_THRI04. On wide verge between path and fence, on south side of A4129 at Ray Farm. 30cm wide X 28cm deep and 96cm high. Inscription 'Thame 4/ Oxford 18' and 'Risboro 2 1/2 / Wycombe 11'. ' Newly repainted in gothic script '. [ Detailed description, location and photograph ] (B2). Added to local list (B3). Confirmed by handwritten notes on microfiched OSD Surveyors Drawings (1814) and Bryant 1'' (1835) were in Bucks County Museum now in Centre for Bucks Studies. Museum number xxxvii sheet 37.
