Description

Twentieth century commemorative monument at Medmenham Ferry. Monument by Sir Edwin Cooper commemorates the actions of Hudson Ewbank Kearly. It lies at the west end of Ferry Lane close to the River Thames and adjacent to the Thames National Trail. A significant building within Medmenham Conservation Area (B1). At the ferry, a monument to commemorate Lord Devonport's efforts to maintain public ferry rights. Designed by Sir Edwin Cooper, 1936; sculptor C L J Dorman. Arched stone slab with its own pantiled roof and a putto pointing towards the ferry (B2).
