Description
Single house built in the 1930s
Picturesque white painted rendered house with thatched roof and eaves dormers built at the entrance to the former drive of Bulstrode Park. Built in the 1930s to plans submitted by Messrs Campus of Gerrards Cross. Although not a local characteristic thatched houses were a feature of the Arts and Crafts movement. The Thatched House in Marsham Lane, designed by A. Jessop Hardwick in 1908 has since been demolished. Lovells exhibited a thatched house at the Ideal Home exhibition. This is a local building of note within the Conservation Area of Gerrards Cross Centenary. (B1).
