Description

Single building designed in the 18th Century. Previously Orchehill House (name contracted from Orchard Hill). Began as a large farmhouse converted to a gentleman's residence c.1780. Programme of extensive additions and alterations when bought by William Blount c.1840. Further alterations to designs of Colcutt & Hamp approved in 1909. Comparison with 1900 photo in the History p.21 show these had significant effect. In particular many chimneys have been lost and the building now has a much more horizontal emphasis. Later alterations to accommodate present school use. Building of significant local interest. This is a local building of note within the Conservtation Area of Gerrards Cross. (B1)
