Description
Single house built in the 19th century, former public house
19th c brick building prominently positioned along Main Street. Formerly a public house and therefore significant in terms of the social history of the village. Constructed of red bricks with blue brick headers, the roof is shallow pitched, hipped in form and laid in slate. The building is orientated so that the gable faces onto the street. Despite alterations to the windows and a later extension, the building is still recognisably 19th c in character and because of its scale and position has a strong visual presence on the Main Street, for these reasons it is considered to be of local note. This is a Local Building of Note within the Conservation Area of Padbury.
