Description
Mid to late nineteenth century former farm buildings at Manor Farm, now houses.
Group of primarily mid to late 19th century agricultural outbuildings, now converted to domestic
use. Associated with Manor Farm, the buildings are arranged around a courtyard. Ranging between
one and a half and two storeys in height, the buildings are constructed of brick and sit beneath
shallow pitched gabled roofs laid in slate. The complex is significant primarily because these
building reflect the former agricultural economy of the village and in particular its period of growth
and prosperity during the mid to late 19th century. The agricultural buildings are architecturally
distinctive with their large blank gabled roof planes and the relatively high solid to void ratios of
their elevations. 'Local Building of Note' within the Conservation Area of Buckland (B1).
