Description

Wesleyan chapel constructed in 1877 with many original features. Wesleyan Chapel constructed in 1877. Two storeys in height with steeply pitched gable roof laid in slate. Circular vent contained within apex of gable. Three bays in width each bay delineated by a series of brick recesses containing lancet windows to first floor and rectangular sashes to ground floor. Door contained within central recess, exaggerated in height and topped by glazed fanlight. Stone detailing articulating arch of central bay. All original interior fittings removed in 1978. Clearly ecclesiastical and retaining many of its original features, this is a visually prominent building which is also significant as a spiritual focus within the village. Local Heritage Asset in conservation area (B1).
