Description

19th century public house. Two storey six bay public house. Constructed of red brick and sitting beneath a shallow pitched gabled slate roof. The eye is drawn to the three two storey canted bays which alternate between bays containing ground floor doors and first floor sash windows. This building is visually prominent within the street scene and enjoys space around it which is unusual for buildings located along the northern side of the High Street. It is also significant in terms of its role as a public house within the social history of the village. Local Heritage Asset in conservation area (1).
