Description
19th century public house.
Two storey six bay public house. Constructed of red brick and sitting beneath a shallow pitched
gabled slate roof. The eye is drawn to the three two storey canted bays which alternate between
bays containing ground floor doors and first floor sash windows. This building is visually prominent
within the street scene and enjoys space around it which is unusual for buildings located along the
northern side of the High Street. It is also significant in terms of its role as a public house within the
social history of the village. Local Heritage Asset in conservation area (1).
