Description

C19 or early C20 brick building which retains some original features. Two storey red brick building which sits beneath a gabled roof laid in slates. Brick end stacks. Presents a symmetrical elevation to street consisting of three bays with central door flanked by canted bays to ground floor and three former sash windows to first floor. Decorative detailing achieved through insertion of stone keystone to brick window arches and corbels sills beneath first floor windows. Despite loss of original windows, building retains its original form, fenestration pattern and decorative detailing. Forms part of a group of relatively simple and modest late 19th and early 20th century buildings prominently positioned towards the eastern end of High Street and which create a strong building line. Local Heritage Asset in conservation area (1).
