Description
C18 building which is an unusual and significant feature in the streetscape.
One and a half storey 18th century brick building set back from the road. Relatively steeply pitched
tiled roof (possibly formerly thatched) with brick end stacks and two gabled dormers. The bricks
used in the construction of the building are a much browner red than surrounding 19th century
buildings and are also peppered with some vitrified bricks. Timber casement windows to ground
and first floor with diamond leaded lights. The building is very different in form to its neighbours
and its asymmetrical vernacular appearance, with clear pre-19th century origins make it an unusual
and therefore a significant feature within the streetscape. Local Heritage Asset in conservation area (1).
