Possible findspot of Lower to Middle Palaeolithic handaxe from Littleworth. Dimensions - Length 0140 mm Width 0082 TYPICAL MID-ACHEULIAN TYPE. WELL MADE. THIN CROSS-SECTION. SMALL AMOUNT OF CORTEX AT BUTT. MOTTLED OCHREOUS PATINA. LIGHTLY ROLLED (B1-2). MARKED 'LITTLEWORTH' AND MAY HAVE COME FROM GRAVEL PIT AT NGR, BUT THIS UNLIKELY AS IT IS 90M OD IN GRAVELS OF THE HAREFIELD TERRACE (B3). Site mentioned in English Rivers Palaeolithic Survey (B4-5).
