Description

Pair of early twentieth century estate cottages The northern-most building within the conservation area is a pair of early 20th century semi-detached estate-style cottages, Sundawn and Thistledown. The pair are unlisted, but are significant to the conservation area, having a traditional appearance. They consist of a brick ground floor, with a colour-washed rough-cast first floor in a mellow cream. The roof is of tile with decorative finials and a single central chimney stack. Both cottages have half-glazed doors with porches and replacement white casement windows. The pair are set back from the road at an angle and face the north-east comer of the churchyard. They form a visual boundary to the conservation area and are partly screened by roadside hedges. A significant building within the conservation area of Fingest (B1).
