Description

Two or three early nineteenth century cottages and outbuildings, now a single house Early 19th century house, formerly two or three thatched cottages. The building is significant for its historic Interest – mapping is unclear however it appears in the 1922 map, although given the materials and architectural style it is believed that it dates to at least the early C19th. Evidential Interest – the building, and the outbuildings on the site, hold value in how they relate to the development of the village and in the case of this site, likely the agricultural/rural setting of the building. Architectural/aesthetic Interest – the materials, chimneys, and overall form and features of the building have this type of interest, although changes, mainly to the windows have occurred (B1). Building is shown on 1st edition 25-inch OS map of c1879 and probably shown on OS surveyor's 2-inch draft drawing of c1812 (B2).
