Site discovered in 1918 and thought to be Roman ovens but reinterpreted as probable Bronze Age burnt mounds 1918 DISCOVERY OF ROMAN OVENS (02:000)(B2). MARKED ON OS MAPS AS HEARTHS 1925 (B1). FIELDWALKING IN 1978 PRODUCED ROMAN CERAMICS (B1). (02:001/ 002/003) INDICATING ROMAN SITE ?VILLA. (02:000) VISIT BY MEF IDENTIFIED SITES AS BURNT MOUNDS (B4). (01:000) & NO EVIDENCE OF ROMANS, IN E-S OF FIELD.
