Description

Mesolithic flint scatter found during fieldwalking at Latimer Park Farm FIELDWALK IN FIELD CENTRE BETWEEN 2 ARMS OF CHESS. ALLUVIAL SOIL CONTAINS FEWER FLINTS THAN REST OF FIELD. MANY MESOLITHIC FLINTS (00:001-8)(B1). NOTES & DRAWINGS OF SOME FLINTS & NGR (B2-3). FURTHER WORK LOCATED ANOTHER FLINT CONCENTRATION (B4). SUMMARY REPORT ON THIS & ADJACENT FLINT SITES (B5). Geophysical and topographic surveys carried out by CVAHS in Autumn and Winter 2006/7 failed to identify any traces of hearths or pits associated with Mesolithic occupation, suggesting that the site is buried beneath alluvium or that the finds were redeposited by flooding (B6).
