Field survey of earthworks suggests either a medieval windmill mound or motte or Civil War earthworks Dimensions - Radius 0050 m - Height c.2.5m Plan Form - Circular TERRACED OR WITH SILTED DITCH & BERM. POSSIBLE WORK TO DEFEND RIVER CROSSING PERHAPS ASSOCIATED WITH KNOWN EARTHWORK 100M TO NE (SEE CASS 00570). TIDDINGTON-ICKFORD ROAD PASSES OVER MOUND SO MOUND PROBABLY OLDER THAN ROAD (B1). DITCHED MOUND c.20M DIAMETER, c.2.5M HIGH, VISIBLE ON APS. COULD BE A MILL MOUND BUT POSSIBLY A MOTTE. THE MOUND IS INTEGRAL WITH OTHER WELL PRESERVED EARTHWORKS IN THIS FIELD, WHICH COULD BE VILLAGE EARTHWORKS (B2).
